How will north pontotoc football do this year?

Lost a huge senior class but there are some really good pieces returning. Having Zay Cullens back is big for them. He was a major play-maker a season ago. Defensively may be a major rebuilding job with the seniors they lost. But I still expect North to be in the race for a division title.

New hope football team lost alot of seniors. How do you think they are going to play. And who are some key players for this year?

They lost some big names but I really think New Hope is here to stay. I've liked what I've seen so far out of JJ Jones their new QB. Brenton Spann is back at running back and I'm really excited to see what TJ Stephens and Terryonte Thomas do on the field. I think that New Hope will be a playoff team once again with what they have back and have the potential to be very good.

Your thoughts on the Bruce Baseball teamcthis year?

Would expect Bruce to make a major leap into the playoff race for baseball this upcoming season. All juniors last year. It's their time to shine as seniors.

Thoughts on amory highschool baseball next year with the upcoming 8th graders??

Unfortunately I don't know much about the middle school guys since we focus on Varsity level players!

Bruce High School football. Predictions? Superlatives?

Having Wesley Ross back at QB is great but losing the senior class they had will not be easily replaced. I think they are definitely a playoff team with the athleticism they have returning all across the field and just like last season they could make another playoff run with the right match-ups.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Juniors Lacey Holley and Carley Reeves for Hamilton softball this year?

They are in that group of Lady Lions with an immense amount of talent and still very young. Future is incredibly bright or Hamilton.

What do you predict out of the south Pontotoc cougars?

In what sport are we talking for South Pontotoc?

What do you think about Mantachie baseball this coming year

I think next year will be Mantachie's year to break out in baseball. Strong junior class returns for their senior season. They've been on the verge of getting over the edge so this may be it.

Do you think oak hill will be good in basketball and football??

I think football may have a tough season. They graduated so many seniors but they are in a new division so we'll see how it all goes with their new coach too. I think basketball will be in the same boat as football.

How do you think Calhoun city will do in basketball this year

City is going to be scary good in basketball this year with everything they have returning. Austin Burl was the lone senior and he was a big piece but I think the Wildcats could be the team to beat in Class 2A this year for boys basketball.

Do you think Calhoun academy will be able to function if scott shankles shoulder injury gets any worse?

Didn't know his shoulder injury would affect him that much. He is one of their best players and losing one of your best on an 8-man football team hurts tremendously. But CA has a lot returning so it won't affect them as much as it would have in previous years.

What do you think about eupora football his year?

I think it will be somewhat of a transitional season this year for Eupora. Everything I've heard about Stephen Edwards at Eupora has been great with him taking over for Coach Graham. They've got so much to replace on both sides of the ball and to go along with adding a new system with a new head coach it will be a different year. But they will always play incredibly hard and be tough to defeat every game.

What do you think Calhoun city football will be like this year?

I think City will be a pleasant surprise to be honest. Yes, they lost a superb senior class. But they still have athletes like Brieton Sykes, Jaalen Thomas and Jesse Nabors returning. Plenty of good players are back so they will still be a very tough team to beat.

Losing a senior class like the Wildcats did a season ago would cripple just about any other team in 2A, but City has some top talent returning. A lot will revolve around Brieton Sykes. If he stays healthy and can be a force like he was last year, there's no telling how good Calhoun City can be this season. But overall, they will still be very good and towards the top of the treacherous Region 4-2A.

How do you think Calhoun academy football will be this year?

I think this is CA's season to really do something. They return a lot of junior talent that are now seniors. It's their time to shine now.

Your views on Smithville football this coming up year?

I think people better watch out for the Noles. They have some big time talent returning and they have tremendous depth for a 1A school. If they can get the passing game rolling with Blake Comer at QB, I think Smithville could be the team to come out of 1A North this season.

Any thought on the upcoming Bruce Trojans football team?

I think they'll have a lot returning and will be a scary team if they can put it together. Offense is a big talking point for the Trojans I think. Bruce struggled to score at times last year so Wesley Ross will have a lot on his shoulders to take them places next season.

How do you think heritage academy will do in baseball this year?

They were pretty young this past year and still will be young in the future so there's plenty of room to improve and get better for the Patriots.

What are your thoughts on the Hamilton/Smithville softball rivalry next slow pitch season?

It's going to be as good as ever next season. Both teams will be strong. I'm actually looking forward more to the fast pitch season between those two next year!

Haha it's okay! My apologies for just getting back to you. I've been super busy. I think Starkville is going to be very good again this year. The only thing they're missing is a quarterback to take over for Brady Davis. If they can find that, they will be tough to stop.

Calhoun City's new softball coach is Coach Travis England. He moved from baseball and football

Ahhh gotcha. Yeah I've met him before I believe. He should do a great job at getting the softball program turned around!
