Just saying that Smithville wins Friday and Stringer also wins Friday.. Who would you expect to get the 1A STATE TITLE??

My heart would tell me to go with Smithville but my mind says Stringer. I'm torn honestly if we got to that point. I'm pulling for French Camp to come through with the rematch revenge on Friday so we can have an ALL AREA 1A STATE TITLE! Now that would be AMAZING!

Charleston or Louisville?

No way can you go against Louisville at this point. I will say this is the toughest game that remains for the Chase for 8. Charleston is fast enough and athletic enough to hang with the Cats, but Louisville is way too good to lose. Simply put: this is the 3A State Championship. No one from the South will beat the winner of the North, presumably Louisville

How do you think north pontotoc will be next year and who will be some key players?

More than likely it'll be a transitional season for the V-Men. This was the season to make a run but it came at the wrong time with Charleston and Louisville being SO good in 3A. All things considered though, this was a success of a season for North Pontotoc. You'll have to replace Jolly, Wilkes, and most of all Marcus Green. But there is some talent returning next season. Brooks Shannon and Greg Gambrel are both back in the receiving corps and CJ McLaughlin will be back as well. Gotta find a QB to replace Trey, and that won't be easy.

How do you think Bruce will look next year?

Bruce was a junior-heavy team this year so next year they should be even better than this year. The big question will be who will take over at QB. They had a pretty smooth transition this past season with Donta coming in for Davis but next year will be interesting to see. The offense will be centered around Jay Johnson who's a superstar in the making. The defense has Pat Gardner and Jamar Brown to build off of so the Trojans are looking to be a team to watch out for next season.

It just seemed as if for a while you saw Smithville as one of the underdogs. (gotta give credit where credit is due) I didn't think you weren't excited for them or any of the other teams, just wanted to know how you felt now that the other teams were out.

Against some of the bigger teams in non-division play, yes. The Noles played a rigorous non-division schedule and they were underdogs in many of those games. Be careful throwing around the word 'partial' when it comes to sports. I'll defend myself against that. At the end of the day, there weren't very many people that had Smithville at this point. I did. I had them beating Shaw and SBS in my bracket. Now a State Title is a extremely realistic probability.

You seemed to be somewhat partial to Faulkner and Coffeville all season, how's that make you feel since Smithville is going to play for North Half? Looks like they have turned out to be a pleasant suprise to me.

Let's clear some things up here...Partiality is the incorrect term to use in your statement. I'm not biased or partial to any team at all. Now, did I favor Falkner and Coffeeville? Absolutely. The talent the Eagles had returning and the way Coffeeville was playing towards the end of the year, how could you not favor both of those teams? What you have to understand is I pull for EVERY area team to win. I love seeing our area teams get victories during the season and to even suggest that I would feel a different emotion other than excitement that Smithville is playing for the North Half Title is silly. I love my Noles. I've loved them all year. Even on the End Zone preview shows I said Smithville was a team to watch out for this year. Hope that sets the record straight on how I feel about the Seminoles.

I don't think Saint Aloysius can keep this run up and it's mostly because of who they're playing. Smithville is a horrible match-up for any team right now with the way they're playing on offense and defense. Drew Lann is a nightmare for any team to contain and then they run Tyler Hood or Neil Knight right past you. I like the Seminoles to take the trip to Vicksburg and get the win.

Thoughts on the Baldwyn win last night?

EXCELLENT and very impressive win. Being down 14-0, it would be easy for the Bearcats to pack it in but putting up 31 unanswered showed the resiliency those kids have. I really like that team they have at Baldwyn all across the board.

No way I can even begin to make a pick for this game right now. Both teams are incredibly talented and I truly believe both would give Bassfield a run for their money in the 2A title. Baldwyn showed some major heart Friday beating Eupora by scoring 31 unanswered. I know the team had been battling some illnesses nd they rose up and won. City is ON A ROLL right now. They DOMINATED a West Bolivar team that you don't just beat by 20+. It's going to be a phenomenal game.
