Do you think Eupora Fastpitch will be any good?

I think there's plenty of potential to be good this year. Last year they were extremely young so I'd expect a stronger team this season.

If Prentiss county school ever combined do you think they would be a state powerhouse in all sports?

I fielded the same question about Calhoun County. I wouldn't say they would be a powerhouse but there's a lot of basketball talent up there. So I would say they could be a force on the hardwood.

Looks like Baldwyn killed east Webster tonight it was never a close game. Do you think Baldwyn will go back to state?

I've been saying it for a while on here. I don't anticipate them not making it to at least the Final 4.

IF the game is played, I'd say it's a toss-up. Depends on who's starting on the mound for both teams. But both teams are going to be VERY good this year.

If Calhoun county schools ever combined do you believe they could be a state powerhouse in all sports?

It's easy to say yes to that question since there's plenty of talent in Calhoun County but many schools have combined into one county and haven't had the success they envisioned. Columbus is a great example. Used to be Caldwell and Lee High. They combined in the early 90's and have never had great success in sports.

Hatley vs East Webster in varsity girls basketball who you got

I'd expect East Webster to have no problems in that one. Hatley will make it difficult though, I can say that much.

What do you think about Calhoun city baseball this year in 2A?

I think they have a chance to be very good but 2A is going to be stout this season in baseball. Every top team brought back most of their lineups and pitching rotations so it's going to be fun to follow.

We only have 4 area 5A football teams and I love all of them: New Hope, Saltillo, West Point and Oxford.

Who is your favorite 2a team?

I don't like to have a single favorite team ever. That's not fair. Truly, I love all of my area teams in 2A. Especially love 2A since our teams in that class are so strong!

Belmont girls got a chance to win 3A basketball state championship?

Absolutely. It's going to come down to them and of course Booneville. NE Mississippi is stacked with girls basketball talent once again. 3A is going to be fun to watch!

I can probably agree that he doesn't play all that steep of competition. Either way he still has some talent

Oh yeah, there's no denying he has talent if he can put up those numbers.

That's half of his points in the first quarter, could it just be a stroke of luck?

Some guys catch fire in games and that may have just been his night. Not saying he's not talented, just one of those games!

how have you felt about the Lady Eagles basketball season? do you think they'll beat Baldwyn?

I think they've had a VERY good season but they get a tough match-up in the first round. Baldwyn is very beatable though. Eupora needs to use the size they have inside more often in this game and pound the paint to win.

Well #23 was a heck of a player. He was the best high school player I've ever seen. He was better than anybody not named Malik Newman in Mississippi

Well you intrigued me. I looked him up on YouTube: Jacob Girley. He's not bad. He's got some skills. But I wasn't overly impressed with the competition he was going up against. Now, I haven't seen him in person so I'm just going off of what I see on video but I'd like to see him play against tougher competition.

Is every boys team in 2A playing for second place besides Baldwyn

I'd say that's a pretty fair assessment but as you know, playoff time is when things get quirky and chaotic. Don't count out the rest of the field. But if you made me take Baldwyn or the rest of the 2A field to win the State Title, I'd take the Bearcats.

Any body recruiting #23 from blue mountain? He dropped 49 on mantachie and went 9-10 from the 3 pt line in the first quarter

No idea. Haven't had a chance to see him play.
