Thoughts on Marcus Green of North Pontotoc?

Bright future, no question about it. If Marcus gets in the open field, you can forget about trying to catch him. He's got great top-end speed. His size is the only thing that's scaring off high major programs but I hear MSU is close to offering him.

Of all the schools you've covered, who has had the best atmosphere?

Best atmosphere I've been at is still from 2011 when I covered Noxapater at Nanih Waiya. Hands down one of the best games I've been able to be a part of in my time down here. So far this year, French Camp and Saltillo have been great atmospheres along with Mantachie. Noxubee County was awesome in the Louisville game as well.

what are your thoughts on Calhoun Academy?

I know they've lost quite a bit from last year's team but if they still have the belief from that team they can go far.

What do you think about the smithville coldwater game last night

Absolute insanity. 55-52? That's crazy! I will say that I thought Smithville would have an easier time with the Cougars and the Noles D was better than that but this should serve as the perfect reminder to Smithville that there are teams in that division that can take them out.

Jack Abraham from Oxford is listed as the number 1 recruit in the nation for the class of 2016

For good reason. He's only scratching the surface on his abilities as a QB. He may end up being a better passer than Parker Adamson and that's saying something.

How about best kicker?

Reed Bigham from Tupelo has got to be the best kicker in the area. He's buried a couple 45+ FG's this year.

What do you think about Saltillo and Oxford next week?

Gonna be a GREAT matchup. It all comes down to whether or not the Tigers can slow down Jack Abraham. I will say that Saltillo is fortunate to be a run-heavy team because Oxford hasn't allowed anyone to pass on them this year.

Top 3 teams in 5a?

1. Oxford
2. Callaway
3. Pearl
Yes, I'm just as stunned as everyone else that I don't have West Point up there.

Are you surprised by the way mantachie played tonight? To me it looked like the offensive line needs a little work. What do you think could help?

I'm not entirely surprised because Nettleton just has more athletes but I think the hype of the game may have gotten to the Mustangs. Receivers dropped a lot of passes and the offense played a bit scared in my opinion. O-Line played against a stout D-Line from Nettleton and they won't see that the rest of the year in division play. Don't put too much stock in that game. Nettleton though is for real. Tigers are legit, could give Aberdeen a run for their money for that 2-seed in 4-3a.

Who's the best punter in the state?

Best punter in the state? Oyyy, I have no idea. If it was last year, I would say Jeb Millender from Pontotoc.

Who is Malik dear and what position does he play. Also is he going d1?

Running back/Wide Receiver/QB for Murrah. He can go just about anywhere he wants, he's that good.

Do you think a team from Mississippi could beat prattville? I went and saw my cousin play for them. They're stacked

The only team that could beat Prattville would be South Panola or Brandon and it would be a slugfest. I wouldn't want to face the Lions.

Thoughts on aeris Williams?

Real deal. Having him alongside Shumpert at tailback when he's at MSU is a dangerous duo running the football. He's a lot faster than people give him credit for and his power is lethal. What's even more impressive is the fact that EVERYONE knows West Point runs the ball and they load up the box and he still takes off on big plays. That's the best part about him, is his ability to run against teams that know it's coming.

10 best players in MS

Man you aren't making it easy on me.
1. Malik Dear
2. Aeris Williams
3. Rod Taylor
4. Fletcher Adams
5. Jamal Peters
6. CJ Hampton
7. Breeland Sparks
8. Gerri Green
9. Devin Voorhies
10. Jesse Jackson

Chances of Wyatt Roberts playing d1 college football?

Well right now, Wyatt is verbally committed to Jacksonville State so he's on track to play 1-AA ball right now. In my opinion, he's talented enough to play at the D-1 level but coaches are afraid his size will hinder his ability to pass over bigger offensive lines. Doesn't seem to be a problem for Drew Brees or Russell Wilson in the NFL. I know he's happy with Jax State right now but I would love to see a Troy or a South Alabama give him a shot possibly.

But what about Coffeville putting up 71 on hulka?

That was very impressive, but they hit Houlka while they were down and still picking themselves up following the loss of their head coach. Coffeeville is without a doubt a playoff team and a dangerous team to keep an eye on, but I'm sticking with my picks to start the season with Falkner and Smithville to be towards the top with the Pirates and Hamilton being close behind.

do you think 1-1A football will come down to Smithville & Coffeville or what?

Falkner and Hamilton are in the conversation as well. Thrasher had a team to possibly shake up the party but the Rebels have been slow out of the gates. Right now, it's Smithville and Falkner who will decide that division in my opinion.

Can mantachie make a run in 2A?

I think they can definitely win their division, that's entirely possible. But making a run in 2A will be difficult with the teams coming out of 4-2A. Bruce, Calhoun City, East Webster, Eupora are 4 teams that could potentially see themselves in Jackson. But the 2A champion is a forgone conclusion with how strong Bassfield is.

I'm so excited for Tachie football tomorrow I can't sleep. Win or lose we are a changed school! Give em heck, Tachie Tech!

I managed to sleep last night but I'm stoked for the game tonight. It's gonna be rocking!

Best wideouts in 4A?

Markell Pack from Purvis and Jamoral Graham from Newton County are possibly the top 2 in the state and they both happen to come out of 4A. Brennan Bradley is up there as well from Saint Stanislaus just because the Rocks throw it around the yard.

Do you think #TheTach can win their division? They're going pretty strong right now. Best I've ever seen Mantachie play.

No question they can win their division. If the Mustangs can get past Baldwyn, then that division is Mantachie's. I know East Union is still unbeaten but they haven't faced the likes of a Baldwyn or Mantachie just yet.
