Top 7 Best Hamilton softball players

I try to refrain from ranking the "top players" whenever I'm asked but you can go through any of that sophomore class and put them towards the top and honestly it's hard to even rank them since they're all so talented!

You think Houston will win state? How many games and what's the score?

Hard to predict the score so I'll refrain from that but I truly believe they are a State Championship team. I think I said it back in February that they had the potential to win it all and sure enough they are right there. They have the pitching, the hitting and definitely the fielding to finish it off and I think they will do so in Pearl this week!

New hope has some really good freshmans for next year! Be on the lookout

I will certainly be doing so!

What do you think about Hamilton Lady Lion Softball

I think their 1A North half final with Smithville was the State Championship honestly. They were the only team left that could give the Noles a run for their money and boy did they. Had them down at multiple instances but now I think the Lady Lions need that killer instinct and confidence to be able to finish off their rival when they need to!

I think they won another 2A State Championship so they're REALLY good.

They were big time in bringing home that 3-peat!! So proud of them.

Tennis won a State Title.
Fast-Pitch won a State Title.
Baseball is playing for a State Title.

Thoughts on Smithvilles win against Ingomar? And thoughts on them Vs cathedral?

I thought it was a tough, gritty comeback win. But that's always been Smithville's mindset in everything. They have an amazing resiliency as a school and as a community to fight back with their backs against the wall. And like I said earlier, pitching will have to be big for the Noles to repeat. Cathedral has some big bats.

How do you think Hatley Basketball and Softball will do w/o the seniors they just lost?

Losing Mollie Comer and Abby Cantrell hurt a lot. Those two did just about everything for the Lady Tigers during their time. Taylor Richey and Mary Reeves were big pieces to that senior puzzle as well. But I think they'll be just fine since the junior class behind them is very talented.

Do you think the Seminoles can beat cathedral again?

Without a doubt, yes. Pitching has to come to play for the Noles though. Cathedral brings some big bats with them. So I'd expect Micah McCain to have that shoulder tested once again. But absolutely, I think they can repeat!

Still very young and has plenty of time to mature and get better but she's a part of that strong freshmen class that will make the Lions very good for years to come.

Well if we're talking baseball then yes! They're onto Pearl! If we're talking fast-pitch, then it's all about that 3-peat!

How do you think Calhoun City football will do this year?

I still think they're going to be very tough to beat. As long as Brieton Sykes stays healthy, the Wildcats are very talented again. Will come down to how they handle themselves in the trenches with all the big guys they lost to graduation.

What do you think about pontotoc city's football team? With a Coach Carter as head, do you think they'll only get better?

There's definitely plenty of room for improvement and I'd expect that to happen for the Warriors over time. They really need to find a QB to lead the offense and when that happens then they could be very good.

Do you see FCA football being good this upcoming year? Lots of seniors and a big junior class coming up. What do you think?

Yeah I definitely think the Panthers are preparing for a big season this year. With the seniors they lost last year, I think it was more of a transitional season in 2014. But the fact they still made the playoffs with all the star power they lost shows how strong FCA will be this season. I really like Luke McKnight at QB and those juniors returning for their senior year should make them VERY tough.

Best softball players from eupora??

I really like Marlee Ray a lot. I think she was really fun to watch this year. Courtney Hatcher as well. I know they're VERY young so I would expect Eupora to really break out next season with how far they made it this year.

What's your opinion on the Hatley V East Webster game tonight?

I must say, I was a bit surprised at how East Webster took control and handled Hatley. I thought the Tigers would be able to manufacture more runs but EW really brought it on the mound and did their job at the plate!

What you think about Jeremiah Hudson?

I don't remember seeing him play this year so I'm not really sure.
