No disrespect to my Bearcats, but it would be a mismatch. Callaway is HUGE at every position and they have the No. 1 player in the nation in Malik Newman.

Why would a 6A team like tupelo be scared of a 2A team like Baldwyn? Don't get me wrong I go to Baldwyn I grew up with the whole basketball team mostly the juniors I know we are good but come on tupelo is supposed to be big and bad right??????

That's just me reading in between the lines. I'm not sure if they are scared or not. Sure seems like it to me. The 'we have too much to lose' makes me believe that even if they won, they would have been expected to but if they lost it would have been a major story. That's probably what they were afraid of most was being a headline if they lost.

I think both have the potential to make deep runs. They've got the pitching and hitting to get there, no question. That division will not be easy though! Eupora and EW are strong once again this season.

I'll pick two guys for you: Eupora's Trey Pittman and Baldwyn's Ryan Wesson. Both guys had super junior years and are poised to break out in their final seasons.

I don't like to pick out favorite players because I don't want to be biased. I enjoy pointing out the teams that I like to cover. And to be honest, I don't play favorites because I love my job and getting to cover any of our area teams!

I think they'll have a solid year but I believe they're one year away from having a VERY good season. Their junior class is strong and will be the next big thing in 2016.

I heard. I was told tupelo thought they had "too much to lose" in the game and decided against it. So there you have it, Baldwyn. Certainly looks like Tupelo is afraid to play you.

I think the key to this year is forgetting about last season. The Panthers were super unlucky and just didn't get the ball to roll their way. If Amory can get past all of that, then I think this is a big year for them
