What effect you think Ovurton Gates will have on the football field this year for baldwyn?
I look for Ovurton to have a breakout season this year. He's gotten valuable reps his first two years in varsity action but I would expect him to have a big year as a junior this upcoming season.

What do you think about smithville softball this upcoming season with losing those seniors
I'm not sure that will slow them down too much with the kind of talent they have returning. Losing Lane, Breanna and Laken hurts but Angel Guyton is back and so is pitcher Morgan Barrett plus there's always plenty of underclassmen ready to take over at any notice for the Noles.

Your thoughts on josh dowdy leaving Bruce for Kossuth?
Somewhat surprised since Bruce was returning a strong team but then again Kossuth is a perennial powerhouse in baseball and in recent years the coach at Kossuth has used that job to jump to an even bigger job. He's going to do big things at Kossuth and he will be missed at Bruce.
Oak hill is gonna be pretty good in basketball. Watched them at a basketball camp at mra and they almost upset the patriots on MRA's own court
That's good to know. I think they have the potential to be strong this year no question.
How do you think the Ripley High School baseball team will do this year?
Not one senior on the roster. That should be your first indication that Ripley could be very good this upcoming season. Even finishing with a winning record last season is encouraging going forward.

Hmmm, kind of hard to give thoughts on the entire school's sports for a season. I think for the most part though it's a good senior class of 2016 and it should be a great year at City.

Thoughts on amory football with the upcoming freshman?
Haven't had a chance to witness the incoming freshmen for Amory but if they're anything like what's directly in front of them on the sophomore level they're going to be a strong group.
What do you think about Winston Academy's football and basketball teams this year?
I think both will go through transitional seasons with new head coaches, although I think the football team has the potential to be tough and very good with Junior Graham coming in to lead the team. He always gets the most out of his teams.

Opinion on Pontotoc high school football this upcoming season?
I think they're a year away from being really good. They're so young and only have a couple seniors on this year's team so give the Warriors one more season and I think you could see Pontotoc challenge for a division title.

I think they could be a pleasant surprise this year. Losing Mookie hurts a bit, but I think they've got a great attitude and will push for the final playoff spot in 1-5A.
Do you see any promise in any specific upcoming 9th and 10th graders this year for Amory Softball?
There's so many in both of those classes that it's hard to single out any of them. They are all extremely talented and will be the backbone of the Amory softball program for years to come.

I don't really like to single out specific people in Top # lists but honestly I think Hamilton is going to push for the 1A State Championship this upcoming season. They will be that good.
How do you think Tupelo high school football is going to be this year? Who are some key players?
A lot is going to revolve around Daniel Bristow returning for his final season at QB. He's going to have the offense go through him. But as always, themblankets will have plenty of speed and quickness. Watch out for Donte Freeman this year. He's a speedster. Overall though, I think Tupelo is a playoff team once again!

What's your opinion on ripley football in the upcoming season?
Still on the fence with Ripley this upcoming season. They do return some great talent and big names. We'll see what they have in the tank for this year. But as always, the Tigers have athletes.

A lot will ride around whether or not they can find a quarterback once again. Seems like that's the talking point every year. But a lot of other factors come into play for next season. I am really excited to see how Felix Hayes does on the football field though.

what happened on 78 about 2 or 3 miles before fulton at around 8 or 8:30 friday??? was it a wreck, we got stuck in traffic.

Chance Lindsey jumps off the page immediately. He'll need to run like a man possessed this year once again. A non-senior to watch is Jaylon Jernighan. He's dangerous with the ball in his hands.
