That's a strange question to ask. #1. They've played a pretty tough schedule. #2. They're still very young. Just one senior. Junior heavy. Those juniors still need one more year under them before they're ready to make a run.

I think they can make a deep run in both. Winning the State Title will be tough. Basketball has Baldwyn & Baseball has Eupora, East Webster, Baldwyn.

How do you think the East Webster girls team will respond after such a tragic loss at the middle of their season?
I think they will respond with pride and power for their coach. I know the EW girls very well and they are a resilient bunch. This is just a minor setback for a major comeback. They'll play this season for Coach Hughey and he would be proud.
How about top baseball players? In Monroe county
That'll take me more time to think of off the top of my head. I'm still in football/basketball mode!

Any words you would like to say on behalf of coach Hughey's passing?
I think it's absolutely heart-breaking. I knew Coach Hughey and had a chance to talk with him on multiple occasions. He was a phenomenal basketball coach but a better builder of young people. It's incredibly sad to see him leave us so soon. I miss him already.

What are your expectations for Eupora baseball this year?
Should be in the running once again to play for the 2A State Championship. I think not having Coach Mitchell will be difficult since he did a great job at leading the Eagles so the Seniors will have to step up to play even bigger roles as leaders.
