I think Ben's having a solid season at the plate. He's trying to be one of the breakout guys for the Jackets this year on the diamond.

Lexi Cockerham would be the one to watch for me. She's an exceptional talent. And even though she's a senior, Addie Thompson is one of the best on the team.

I did for a time, yes. But then I got taller and had to play the 4 & the 5. I'm 6'4 so yeah, they made me play in the paint. But I got tougher that way!

Did u play football in highschool what position?

I didn't actually. I played basketball in high school but I was always around the football team and my Dad played football in high school and college so I've always been around the game. The little football I did play growing up though I was a receiver. Could catch just about anything thrown my way. And by catch I mean drop.

Do you think Smithville will win state championship in baseball in the next 4 years

I think that's a definite possibility. I would say this year they have a great chance to do it too. But yes, I would say in 4 years they will have another State Title trophy.

I think he's an incredible, amazing athlete. He's going to be a star no matter where he goes after high school but I cannot wait to see him play his senior year in football!

Booneville is a very young team. Do you think they will be good in couple years?

They've definitely got some strong players coming up through the ranks. This was going to be somewhat of a transitional season with the talent they lost from last year's team but yes I think they can be very good starting next season with their sophomores and juniors.

They've had some highs and lows this year. I think they're getting great production from their juniors and seniors and the underclassmen have done a great job at stepping up

Do you think booneville high school baseball will make playoffs?

It's looking grim right now but they have a crucial series with North Pontotoc this week. They absolutely have to win both against the Vikings this week plus at least one versus AC next week to have a shot. I personally think they still have something left in the tank to do it.

I think they're having a very solid season. They're in a tough division especially with East Webster but the Lady Trojans have certainly held their own!
