Who has stood out the most for Amory baseball so far?
Right now, definitely Jon David Poss. He looks tremendous being back out there after ACL surgery. I for one am pumped to see him playing again.

Eupora looked pretty good against Houlka! Trey Pittman threw a no hitter, they all hit well, and defensively they were solid with a pretty double play turned by Will Bowen and Lawson Stewart! I love watching them play!
Eupora is going to be very, very good in baseball once again this year. They have a ton of talent, especially senior talent.
best 5 student section you've seen in the north you've seen this year
Hmmm...that's a tough question. I'd say from what I saw in the area: New Hope, Mooreville, Baldwyn, Tupelo and Pontotoc. Itawamba AHS was very good too. Again, those are just the student sections that I saw. I know they're probably many more that are great that I didn't get to see this year!

As far as Eupora baseball goes, I would say the seniors are a special group of guys. They've got great potential and I hope to see them back in Jackson.

Do you think Baldwyn baseball has a shot at their 3rd straight divisions title?
I think they're definitely the favorite in that division but I would say that Baldwyn has their eyes set on something more than a division crown this year in baseball.

Have you kept up with Amory so far this fastpitch season? How do you think they'll do?
Not much yet since I'm finishing up basketball coverage but I think they'll once again be competing to be towards the top in 4A North.
opinion on Mantachie's girls basketball? who stands out in each grade to you?
Madelyn Lindsey stood out this year for the Lady Mustangs and they have a strong junior class so theyll have to pick up her scoring average next year to compete!

I would have to say all of Eupora's baseball starters are all equality talented. When they get out on the field together they play as one. They don't depend on certain individuals to make them stand out or to win a game. They do it together! That's what I like about them!
I completely agree. That's why the question "Who's the best Eupora baseball player" is unfair because they're more valuable as a team than as separate entities. But I did list off a couple of their best!

Calhoun city boys best basketball player?
Easy to say Brieton Sykes with his athleticism and abilities. But Tyius Jennings really stuck out to me this year. He's one of the smaller players on the court but he's a tenacious rebounder. Ladavius Draine is another guy who I really enjoyed watching.

I think West Point has the potential to be a flying under the radar team that could scare some people. They have some good pieces returning but Rico Lane is their best player and most valuable.
Overall campus beauty which high school is most beautiful?
Oh wow. That's a great question. I think in terms of architecture, Tupelo's campus is beautiful. Their high school lay-out is really very nice. But they are large school with plenty of funds for those kinds of things.
Some of the other non major schools that I think are beautiful are Itawamba AHS since their school has such a large campus, Booneville is right in the heart of their town and has Northeast CC which makes it gorgeous, and the new buildings at East Webster make their campus quite pretty.

I honestly couldn't name just one player that's Eupora's BEST player. But Trey Pittman and Rusty Johnson are probably two of their most valuable players. Lawson Stewart and Corson Gunn are also quite valuable for the Eagles.
When it comes to atmosphere and fan base which high-school girls basketball team takes the cake?
That's a really good question. I think New Hope's girls basketball fans are exceptional. They always get into the game and make it loud. I'm not sure anyone holds a candle to New Site though. The Lady Royals fans are loud and proud at all times.

What do you think about North Pontotoc softball this year?
They're going to be VERY good. Only had one top senior graduate from last year's team and they were junior heavy. If there was ever a year to make a run at Nettleton in 3A, this would be it.

Get to know the name Angel Guyton. She's a superstar. She has been unbelievable in the early season. Lane Kennedy and Breanna Edgeworth are two others that I expect to have huge seasons.

Best 2A baseball teams in area.?
Baldwyn, Eupora, East Webster, Calhoun City, Hatley and Bruce. They'll be the top teams this year in 2A North.
What's you opinion about the progression of Falkner High School boys basketball?
I've been extremely impressed. This was a team 3 years ago that managed just 4 wins I think. Now, they're a perennial playoff team and they have the potential to make a deep run every year now.
What players from HATLEY should people really watch out for this FASTPITCH season.?
Mollie Comer is one to watch for. She's dominant at the plate. Ashton Wright on the circle will be tough again this year.

I couldn't even begin to answer since I haven't seen Tristan play. From what I saw out of Clayton Knight, I like so I would stick with him but again I haven't seen Tristan.

I think Tupelo is young but has tremendous potential. They're good enough to be a playoff team and beyond. I think they're a year away from really making a State Title push.
Predictions on City baseball?
I'd say they're going to be right in the mix with all the top teams in 2A North. So a potential 2A North Champ for sure
