Bruce softball this year?
Only 3 seniors depart from a decent team a year ago so I think there's good enough reason to believe that Bruce can be a good, solid team again in 2014.

Top 3a north baseball teams
Kossuth, Belmont, Mooreville, Water Valley, and I'll go with Winona in that mix too. Kossuth are the reigning champs but this may be Mooreville's year I think. Belmont has Luke Alexander too so they'll be in the mix.

Hmmm...let's see.
East Side is ridiculously good, Winona and North Panola I've heard are pretty strong this season. But the mainstays in 3A are Booneville and Aberdeen and they're good again this season. I like those 5 from the north. North Pontotoc is in that mix as well.

How do you think the Eupora eagles baseball team will do this year?
Should be better I think. They were fairly young a year ago but football guys like Trey Pittman and Corson Gunn should be a big boost for the Eagles against this season on the diamond.
I love how you don't have mantachie a chance this year. I mean who did they lose last year? They still have their pitching and there hitting. Do they not??
Who said about not giving Mantachie a chance? Surely not I. Just because I'm picking East Union, Hatley, and Bruce to come out of 2A North doesn't mean I'm not giving the Tach a chance. They're still a VERY solid team but I think the talent out of the other 3 is going to win out. But Mantachie is going to be right there at the end of the day, no question.
What are you thoughts on Eupora Softball this upcoming Fastpitch season
I expect the Eagles to get back to their winning ways this season. I know last year was a tough season but I think Eupora can return to their 2011 form this upcoming year.

Some of the best baseball players in the state?
I really know only of the guys that are signed for MSU and Ole miss plus our area players. I know Will Golsan and Taylor Stafford from New Hope are going to be STUDS at Ole Miss and MSU respectively. Trojans should be back in Pearl playing for the title in 5A again this season. Kyle Watson from Desoto has a pretty good following and there's been a lot of talk about Rudy Martin at Lewisburg. Same with Kirk McCarty and Taylor Braley at Oak Grove, they're headed to Southern Miss.
What college do you think joniah white will go to? Guy has tons of offers from what I hear
I believe he's signed, sealed and delivered to Louisiana Tech which is a great pickup for the Bulldogs. He still has a ways to go in terms of development with his frame but he's got decent footwork and a good enough inside game to be a potential diamond in the rough.
Eupora softball this year?
The Lady Eagles should be better this season. They had sort of a down season a year ago and with a new head coach I think they can get back to their winning ways this year.
East webster basketball this year?
I think the boys will be competitive, but the girls team is probably the better of the two in terms of championship caliber. The size of Lynesha McCurry and Quantesha Patterson inside makes it tough on their opponents and the Lady Wolverines have good guard play plus good outside shooting. I think they'll be a team to keep an eye on this season. They've been building towards this kind of a year for a little while now.

Houston softballs most talented players?
Sheesh, where do I begin? Chelsea Gates may be the best of the group, Madeline Burdine had a tremendous freshman season a year ago, and Taylor Lancaster plus Mary Kansas Sullivan. I'm eager to see how the Lady Toppers will do under the first year without Coach Jernigan.

How far do you think Smithville BaseBall will get?? And also the Lady Noles in fastpitch??
I think Smithville's baseball team has the chance to be in the race for the 1A Title again this season. I thought they were good enough to win it all last year but ran into a red-hot Greenville St. Joe's team. And it'll be another year where the Lady Noles are playing for a chance to win a State Championship. They're always in that discussion, especially with the wealth of experience they have returning.
Favorite Smithville Softball girls?
Do I have to pick? I like all of my Seminoles! I will say that Morgan Barrett is a beast and I expect her to have another outstanding season.

Baldwyn should be one of the teams to watch out for in 2A. They return a heavy junior class that will compete for the 2A North title. Don't be surprised if you see East Webster and Baldwyn dueling for the 2A North Championship at the end of the season.

East Webster is my pick to win the 2A State Championship this year in softball so I'm liking what the Wolverines have this year!

You mean 'What are your thoughts on me'? I think you're a top-notch safety. Good size for the position, good tackler. I like what I saw from this season out of you. I would guess you're going to be a leader for the team next year with Aleck and James graduating.

How do you think South Pontotocs baseball team will be this year?
The Cougars should be able to have a winning record this season on the diamond. Plenty of good hitting returning this upcoming season including Kolby Dill and Kolten Ferguson. Fielding and pitching are the main areas of concern for South Pontotoc this season.
What do you think about Ripleys DBS?
They were solid this season. Vonte Jones was probably the best one that I saw. It was a fairly young unit this season and they should be good again next year.
Some of the best softball players In the state?
I mainly know of only those who are in our area. Ryan Holdiness from Nanih Waiya is very talented on the mound and in the field. I've gotten the chance to watch her a lot. Marianna Young from Nettleton is one of the better pitchers in the area. DJ Sanders from New Hope is gonna be a star if she follows the softball track. She's great in hoops as well. I know East Webster is a softball factory and they turn out players left and right there Autumn Frost is one of the best from the Wolverines. Smithville as well always has tremendous softball players. I'm sure I'm leaving out a bunch of other stars but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
2A North Half Baseball Championship Matchup prediction?
Hmmmm I'm going with Baldwyn and Bruce right now. East Union may win the division, but I think the Bearcats have the horses to take down the Urchins in the playoffs.
Calhoun academy football and basketball?

Falkner baseball this year?
Should be better this season. Eagles were VERY young last year and only graduated two I believe. Wes Murphy will be a big part of this season on the mound and at the plate.
Grenada's boy basketball team?
They're going to be VERY good with a guy like Joniah White inside. But overall, the Chargers' size all across the court is impressive. Guard play has to get better and they need to work inside/out with White. Shooters need to step up and hit the open shots they get because teams are going to key on Joniah inside.
