What happened to Baldwyn today??? I really expected them to go all the way this year.
I thought so too. Just some unfortunate plays and bounces didn't go their way. Newton was hitting just about everything in the 2nd half so that helped too.

I was pretty surprised. Baldwyn had a tough time dealing with Newton's smaller guards and speed. Bearcats are more of a power team. They throw their weight around. Newton used that to their advantage

I would expect both teams to compete for State Championships, no question. Softball is the favorite to win it all, baseball will be one of the favorites to come out of 2A North.

What do you think about Mantachie baseball this year?
They return almost all of their top hitters plus their #1 on the mound in Hunter Dill. I think they've got the potential to be a solid team.

You sound like you have a specific answer in mind! Madison Seals and Caitlin Howard were the two that played the most this year that I'd say have a very bright future.

I think they've been through quite a lot. They're not big in numbers but I think they have good leadership.
What you think about south pontotoc? You said below that Lafayette is a very solid team and south got beat 2-1 in the 10th inning. And Lafayette is 4a. So will the cougars have a successful season?
I believe so. Many of their top hitters from a season ago were freshmen and sophomores so I think they've got the chance to be very good in 3A.
What are your expectations for hamilton baseball this season
They were so young last year that I think they're going to be much improved this season. Would expect them to be a playoff team
What are your expectations for hamilton softball this season
Softball has the potential to win a State Championship, no question. They have the talent to do it.

I think Smithville will be able to compete for a state championship every year in baseball. They'll always be good enough every single season to be in that discussion.

Honestly, do you think Lafayette is/will be good this year in baseball?
I think they'll be very good. Solid team returning from last year's group plus they've already grinded out two wins to start the year. Bats will have to start coming alive but the pitching has been great.

I think they have a great chance to do it! Always tough to win on the road in the playoffs but their defense will have to lead them

That's the toughest 2A division in the state. Doesn't matter what sport it is. Especially football

I was super impressed Hatley came back on them with that major run in the 2nd half. But EW showed their resiliency to finish it off and advance!
