Are Calhoun City's Baseball and Football futures bright next year and years to come with this Enormous and exceedingly talented senior group they will be losing? Why? Or Why Not?

Are you talking about this upcoming season or 2015's football season?

Which 2A North Team has the Best fans and atmosphere?

Hmmm...that's a good question. It's really hard to choose. I think Bruce really has built a tremendous fan base and atmosphere for its football games but there's something about East Webster that always gets me. The way the fans are right there on you, ringing their cowbells, it feels like high school football. I'm an old school kind of guy when it comes to that so you can't beat having that. But seriously all 2A North teams have great fan bases and atmospheres. Mantachie may be the most underrated atmospheres in the state. They're really building a solid fan base and I can't forget about my friends at the Boneyard who bring it every game!

Will AJ and CJ more excel at Ole Miss on the Collegiate level like they excelled at Bassfield?

Not sure I understand who you're talking about.

Will any Calhoun City Players play at a D1 level in future years? Who?

I think Brieton Sykes has a chance. Chakel and Steele have a shot at going to JUCO and maybe moving up to the D-1 level.

Who do you think Calhoun City's Five most talented football players are? Why?

1. Chakel Gates - can do everything on the field and more. Great leader.
2. Brieton Sykes - Tremendous athleticism and has a very high future in football and hoops.
3. Steele Liles - Tough, hard-nosed kid. Just gets after it.
4. Jordan Pratt - Up and comer. Looked good in the secondary last season. Still young.
5. Keshun Bobo - Eats up space in the trenches. I like his tenacity.

Best defensive lineman in 3a

Gotta go with Jalon Sangster at Louisville. Dude is a beast in the trenches. I think he has a breakout season as a senior.

Other than Jay Johnson, who are some more weapons for Bruce

Jamar Brown and Jadarrius Benson have some skills in space so I would imagine they are going to get many more looks this upcoming season with teams focusing much of their defense on slowing down Jay.

Who are 5 impact players for louisville this year

Demarcus Brooks, Dontea Jones, Jalon Slaughter, whoever starts at QB which I'm guessing will be Brady Anderson, and Marcus Banks.

Who u thinks gonna win all of 3a

3A is wide open this year. I would have to think Louisville is going to have a say at the end of the day but it's way too early for me to even make a pick as to who can win it all in 3A. Watch out for Aberdeen & Charleston too. They'll be super tough.

Your Prediction for end of the Year Standings in Region 4/2A North

As of right now, I'd go with:
1. Eupora
2. Calhoun City
3. Bruce
4. Okolona
5. East Webster
It's really hard to pick right now, but I'm sticking with Eupora as my division champ as of today. Seriously, put any of those 5 teams in any other division and they would compete for the division title. I think East Webster is going to be a better team but the talent at Okolona coming back plus what City & Bruce have is going to make it tough on the Wolverines. But I hope they prove me wrong!

Do you think that Region 4/2A is the toughest Region in 2A North?

Without question. 5 playoff teams playing for 4 spots. Imagine if Ackerman hadn't consolidated. They would also be in that division. That would have been pure insanity.

Do you think any 2A North team is good enough to beat Bassfield? Why?

Talent wise I don't believe so. Bassfield has some of the best athletes in the state, and I say that PLURAL. They don't have JUST Jamal Peters. Trodrick Green is a TD waiting to happen. Their defense is SO fast. They are absolutely loaded at every position and they have tremendous depth for a 2A school.
Now, I do believe that a 2A North team can beat them because our 2A North Teams are some of the most well-coached teams in the state. Eupora, Calhoun City, Baldwyn, Bruce and possibly West Bolivar are capable of beating them. But you'll need to catch Bassfield on a bad night and get some help in the turnover game to take them down.

What was NA's biggest lost of the graduated seniors.?

I'd say the defensive seniors as a whole. Lost a lot of leadership with those seniors but I think the juniors who are now seniors for NA are ready to take on the bigger role for this upcoming season.

When will it be on tv or y'all's website?

It will be on TV Sunday and we'll have it on the website on Monday!

Will New Albanys Defense be good.?

They'll have plenty of good leadership returning so I think they can be sharp. NA will always have tough kids playing on D

Do you think that Bruce will finally get over the hump and beat Calhoun City this year?

It has been WAYYY too long since Bruce topped City in the Skuna River Rivalry. Definitely good enough to do it this year but it certainly won't be easy with what the Wildcats have returning!

what team in 3a do you think will surprise some people next year?

Aberdeen won't surprise but they will be a team to watch out for as a 3A title contender but outside of the Bulldogs it's going to be North Panola. I know they aren't in the viewing area but man they have some players. Closer to our area I think South Pontotoc has the potential to surprise some people, Mooreville too.

Will East Union's receiving or running game be stronger this year?

They lost Blake Spruill in the running game but they'll still depend on the rushing attack to win games.

How do you think East Union will do next season, are there summer workouts more unique or different than other schools, from what you saw during your visit the other day?

Definitely very unique. I've seen some teams do things like that but nothing like that consistently. The one thing that East Union has is a strong work ethic. That will definitely help them going forward. I think they can definitely finish with a winning record this year and make it back to the layoffs.

Who will be better in football Starkville academy or Heritage

Pretty confident that Starkville Academy will have the advantage over Heritage this season. The Vols return an incredibly strong junior class and Heritage graduated an extremely talented senior class. But never sleep on the Patriots because we did that two years ago and they won the State Title.

Ahh okay how much of a surprise would it be if new site ended up in there

That would quite possibly be the biggest surprise in the history of high school football. That's nothing against New Site, it has everything to do with the difficulty of getting through 2A North. Calhoun City, Eupora, Baldwyn, Bruce, East Webster, Okolona, West Bolivar...those are all perennial playoff teams that are incredibly difficult to get past. But I know New Site has some top notch talent returning so they could surprise much like East Union did last season.
