How's New Hope's softball and baseball teams doing?
Baseball is doing great, softball is a little rocky to start but they'll get back into it once the season continues on.

Tied? No way. That'll give the other team free throws I assume since both teams would be in the bonus by then. Now, if we're up by 3 and they're going for the tie...I'm letting it play out. I'm trusting my defense to get the stop.

That's all you need though. Two arms and enough in the pen, that's what they got. There aren't many other teams in 1A who have two big time pitchers like Tyler Hood and Drew Lann.

Very. Great speed in the outfield and in the infield they don't make many mistakes.
Their coach said they left 12 runners on.. Hard to win when you leave that many on
Sure is but that shows they just didn't cash in. Luckily, it's just one game. Did you see their game against Hamilton this past week? 15-0 against a very strong Lions team. They cashed in during that game.
What happened to them against TCPS?
Last week? Just couldn't get the run support for the pitching. TCPS and Hamilton will be their 2 major hurdles along with Myrtle and Thrasher but they're my favorite out of 1A North right now.
Do you think smithville has a chance at state in baseball this year?
Without a doubt. They're my favorite to come out of 1A North. 1A South is pretty loaded but the way the Noles are playing, they're going to be playing for the State Title in my opinion.
Do you think Michael smith should coach both boys and girls or just one of them?
From just looking on the outside and seeing all the success he's had with both programs, I don't see any reason why he should coach one or the other. It's completely up to him to be quite honest but the way he coaches up the boys and girls and has them ready to play every game is outstanding. I don't think Booneville could afford to have him coach one team or the other! He's way too valuable to those kids.
What do you think about Booneville's girls next year?
They should win it all again next year. I said it after the game: that was probably one of the greatest coaching jobs I've ever seen in basketball. Michael Smith did an unbelievable job getting that team prepared and ready to win. They only lose Dashiyah and with such a strong leadership group returning, I don't see any reason why they won't repeat!
what about their softball team? kinda had a rough year last year?
Yeah I didn't get a chance to see their softball team but I'm sure they'll be better next season. Just a transitional season.
what are you expecting out of starkville academy's upcoming senior girls basketball players??
I'm expecting to see them pick up right where this past season left off. I know losing Sallie Kate and Nora Kathryn really hurts but Anna and Taylor are seasoned veterans and they know what is expected of them next year.

What do you think of IAHS baseball & softball teams? Have you seen them play?
I have not seen either play yet unfortunately but from what I've heard the baseball team has had some bright spots this season and the softball team is really starting to put it together at the right time.
how do you think Eupora football will be this fall
They're one of the teams I'm watching to break out next season. With Trey Pittman and Corson Gunn throwing the rock plus Lamontae Salley running, I think the Eagles have a chance to have a special season.

Losing Lavarious Varnado and Cartin McBride will hurt considerably. But Chakel Gates, Brieton Sykes, and Steele Liles all are back so that's a good foundation to build on. They'll have to find some skill guys to fill the void left by Varnado & McBride. They'll still be in the running for the 4-2A title, no question.
What do you think about Bruce Fastpitch Softball?
Slow start to the year, I think they're beginning to get back on track.
