It's probably still Saint Patrick but Nettleton is always VERY good and I expect the Lady Tigers to be right in the middle of the title chase again.

I think Eupora has a great chance to repeat since they bring everyone back from last year's team but Baldwyn, Hatley and East Webster will be teams to watch.

Typically players make their biggest jump in performance from their junior to their senior year so I would expect Ryan to be throwing fire for the Bearcats this year.

For next season? TCU. By far. Everyone is back from that team. They're going to be scary good.

Tupelo or BALDWYN in basketball?
I think if they played 10 times, it would be split 5-5. They're incredibly talented and two of the best teams in the state. With all that said, I would probably lean a little towards Tupelo but Baldwyn would get after it on the Wave. I wish they would play one another!

Do you think anyone from Falkner will make it to the next level in football?
Hard to tell right now. I know they've got a couple guys on offense that put up big numbers the past 2-3 years and they could maybe see where they end up in college.

I'm really eager to see the juniors Drake Wallace and Austin Grubbs and senior Cody Pate. Those 3 had great seasons at the dish last year. I'm also excited to see Jon David Poss back out on the diamond following his surgery. I think those guys could take Amory to big places this year.

I think they were just fortunate in OT. Got some bounces go their way, some buckets to fall. Wasn't anything that Baldwyn did.

I hear you right there. Smithville, Amory, Hamilton & Caledonia should all be VERY good this year. I know Caledonia is on the edge of Monroe/Lowndes but I always put them in Monroe County.

That's a great question. I think best player overall is Conner McKay. His ball-handling abilities and prowess from the perimeter is quite impressive.

That's a great question. I haven't heard of who's in the running. Eupora has an extensive coaching tree of guys they can go after so they'll bring in a talented guy, without a doubt.
What do you think of Baldwyn losing yesterday to Covington TN?
I don't see it as a big deal. It was in OT, they had their chances to win it and finish it off. I don't think they'll lose to a team in Mississippi this year.

What do you think about hamilton's starting varsity 8th grader (Lexy Cockerham) in softball do you think they made a good decision? Do you think she deserves the spot?
She played varsity and got some time as a 7th grader and softball is one of the few sports where I can see an 8th grader play and be successful as a starter. I absolutely think she deserves it!
