Think Smithville has a chance at 1-1a state title?

Without a doubt. It comes down to them and Falkner. Coffeeville and Hamilton will be in the mix as well. It's a wide open division that's begging for a team to take control. Falkner hasn't looked nearly as impressive as I thought they would.

Who is your view is the top 5 players in 2A?

In class 2A, you may as well put 5 Bassfield players in the top 5 because that's how dominant and good they are. Jamal Peters though is the best of the bunch. Dude is gonna be a star.

Who do you think will be in 1a state champ the two teams

I'm sticking with my pick from the start of the season: Stringer and Falkner. You could see a team from the delta make it out of the north though.

Who do u think is going to win Friday?! Mantachie or The other team!

Well that other team is quite the opponent! It's gonna be a close one, I'm not sure I can pick a winner right now!

Is there any really stand out players overall on both sides of the ball in 1-1a or the 1a as a whole

Noxapater has a couple great players on both sides and so does Stringer. But just about any stand-out player on offense in 1A is usually a stout player on D.

What your opinion of West Lowndes, and where would you rank them in 1A

I had very high hopes for West Lowndes at the start of the season, but they've disappointed to be quite honest. It's too bad because they have such great athletes in Eric Harris and Justin Stephenson. I still think they can make it into the playoffs but right now, they're gonna have to fight to make it in and get a shot.

Caledonia pee-wee leagues are very good.. But it never fails that the high school team is terrible

That comes down to the coaching then. If the younger leagues are preparing the kids, then it's up to the coaches in middle and high schools to keep them playing at a high level. There's definitely talent there at Caledonia, you just gotta keep them playing year round like any other school.

What can turn around caledonia? Have not been over .500 for over 10 years

It has to start from the bottom up. When building a program that's struggled over the past decade, it all starts with getting the kids wanting to play football in grade school and building those kids into top talent. Unfortunately for Caledonia, 4A North is so stout every year with teams like Noxubee County, Itawamba AHS, Amory, and so on. Playing those teams on a consistent basis is never easy. Coach Crotwell is that kind of guy who can build a program and he'll have to do that. They definitely have the potential there at Cal.

Do you think Mooreville will beat South Pontotoc?

It's definitely a toss-up right now. Having everyone back at full strength for Mooreville will help going forward. I like their chances but they'll have to bring it against a well-rounded SP team.

I heard clay Johnson from mantachie was the one to look for

Clay, is this asking you the question? I will be sure to keep an eye on him Friday night now.

Do you know there is another Sangster coming up in Louisville

I did not, and that's great news to hear. If he's anywhere near Jeremy or Jalon, that gets me excited.

Who do you think has the best rushing game in 1A?

I love Jeramie Lawrence at Falkner. He's probably the best back in Class 1A but overall the best rushing attack in 1A is Stringer. No one has been able to stop Tevin Moore and I don't foresee that happening any time soon.

Do you think Louisville could win against south panola

They would definitely give SP a run for their money, but the Tigers are my top team in the state for a reason. X-factor would be how Wyatt did passing against their secondary, because that's South Panola's weakness.

What do you think of Jalon Sangster at Louisville

He's got a VERY bright future just like his bro. He was a force in the game I was at against Noxubee County. But just like Jeremy, his size will hinder him just a bit but he's got the determination to make it far.

what do you think is Louisville weakest point

It's hard to pick out a weak point at all on Louisville right now from their position players but if I had to pick a spot it would be depth on the O-Line. But that's pretty customary with just about any team. That defense is absolutely stacked in every spot including the secondary and the backs and receivers are top-notch.

Caledonia has a good freshman class coming up, with a lot of athletes. They don't play varsity this year but do you think that as sophomores, as young as they are, can have a impact next year?

Absolutely. Good amount of seniors are on the roster this year for Caledonia but next year's senior class is really good too. Hoping to see Cody Cliett come back from injury and be stronger next year on the line. He's got a great future.

Who are some good football players from the tach?

I've become a big fan of Dustin Carrell. Really sharp QB. Nick Burns has been extremely reliable as their top pass catcher and Alston Dill is a special kid at tailback.

Who in Louisville district has the best chance at beating them

Right now, I'd still have to go with Aberdeen. Even though it has been a slow start for the Bulldogs, they still have the moxie to deal with the Wildcats. Can't rule Nettleton out either with their proficiency in the passing game.

Top 5 QB's in the area in your opinion?

Ohhh good question.. Hmmm.
1. Wyatt Roberts
2. Jack Abraham
3. Josh Williams
4. I'm ranking Jon David Poss here even on an injury, because he really is good
5. Dakota Cruber

Do you think Dontae Jones really good

Dontae has D-1 written all over him. He's the most physically gifted receiver that I've been able to see in my time here. He has great hands, size, and speed to go with it. I saw him make a TD catch in the back of the end zone against Noxubee that I'm not sure many college receivers would be able to haul in. He's the real deal.

Does John David Poss have a chance to go somewhere and play football?

Without a doubt, yes. He's got a great arm and pin-point accuracy. I'm not sure what his plans are for football after high school, but I could see him flourishing at a junior college and building up to a possible D-1 school after that. He has great potential.
