During the season who do you think were the top 2A North football teams?
Obviously Calhoun City was the best 2A North team. I thought they'd be in Jackson before the season and they showed to be that team. I think The Tach was the team everyone was pleasantly surprised with. Dustin Carrell was great at QB this past year for the Mustangs. East Union also had a tremendous season. 2A North had some great stories this past season.

Do you think itawamba ahs will be any good this year in football
I think they'll be VERY good. They were a year ahead of schedule last year I think with so much youth but Vijay Miller and Hunter White are back on that offense. That's a good starting point.

This should be Eupora's year to win the division. The offensive talent you listed off is some of the best in Class 2A. Chakel Gates and Calhoun City will have something to say about that and so will Jay Johnson and Bruce but I think Eupora is the early favorite out of 4-2A for me.

I'm not from Baldwyn but I can honestly say that Baldwyn has one of the top Athletic programs in the State! Wouldn't you agree?
No disagreement whatsoever on that statement. They're one of the top high school sports programs you'll find in the state of Mississippi, definitely the top in 2A in my opinion.

Do you see a lot of potential besides the junior class now becoming seniors in the Baldwyn bearcat basketball team?
Definitely. Coby Agnew was the one guy I saw that has tremendous potential. He played great in the State Tournament.

Where do you see Baldwyn Basketball next season?
Same place I saw them the last three years: in Jackson. Still have Duke Upshaw, Romaro Crump and Connor McKay back. They should win it all next year. SHOULD have won it all this past season if it wasn't for some questionable officiating.

What are your thoughts on the "double dribble" call in the 2a state basketball game?
Absolute rubbish. Also Felix Hayes wasn't even close to being out of bounds. It's a shame the way that game ended. Baldwyn was the better team.

We don't cover any teams in 2A South so I can't give you any rankings in softball there.
Baldwyn's pitching pretty good?
Very. Experienced and deep. Team ERA is one of the best stats in the state.

What do you think about Smithville's Softball team and Baseball team??
State Championship contenders without a doubt. I think the Lady Noles are no question my favorite to make it to the title from 1A North and the way the baseball team is playing I can see them playing for it all as well. They've been very impressive this season, both baseball and softball thus far.

Do you think Mantachie has a shot of winning their division this year in baseball?
It's an extremely tough division but yes I think they have a shot. Getting the win over Hatley last night will give The Tach some momentum going forward. I still think Baldwyn is the team to beat out of that division.
