I love seeing schools who have pride and excitement in their football team! Doesn't bother me one bit, I'm honored they ask for my opinion on their team.

I didn't know they were getting a new head coach? Has that been confirmed? I've been a big fan of Roger Chism and I really like him a lot. They had some great seniors on that team so replacing those kids will be tough.

Honest opinion on 1a state championship?
Someone will win and someone will lose. Honestly? I have no idea how it's going to go. It's going to be a PHENOMENAL game. That much I do know.

Who do you want to win the 2A State Championship? Would you be excited if Calhoun City won?
I absolutely want Calhoun City to win. I want all of our area teams to win. I would be ecstatic to see City pull the stunner against Bassfield. But it's going to be very difficult.

Which team in the 2A championship, in your honest opinion, will most likely win?
It pains me to say but Bassfield is most likely to win. They'll be the heavy favorite. City is going to have to play a ball controlled offense to keep the Jackets offense off the field. It will be an extremely tall task for the Wildcats but I think it's going to be a lot closer than most people think.

How do you think 1a state will turnout?
Could be my favorite matchup of the season. I have no idea who's gonna win it's so close. French Camp has had quite possibly the toughest road to make it here and then Smithville has had to win 2 games in a row on the road so far from home. It'll come down to who's D steps up in the 2nd half. The offenses are top notch

City will play hard regardless. That I can guarantee. I don't think it's going to be a typical Bassfield blowout like the one they had last night where they were up 27-0 after the 1st quarter. Wildcats just have to play ball possession football and slow the tempo. Easier said than done though!
I saw you at the Tupelo vs South Panola game I do believe...what do you think about Them Blankets?!?! Tupelos defense is unreal and to hold south Panola to 3 points that's amazing!!! You think Tupelo can win it all?!?
BEST DEFENSE IN THE STATE. I've been saying it for months. Tupelo's D is UNREAL. Marcus Robinson, James Gilleylen, Jamal Wren, I could go on and on. Them blankets are scary. And YOU BET they can win the State Title. Oak Grove has possibly the best passing attack in the state with Kirk McCarty but if that front 7 can wreak havoc on him like they did with the SP QBs, Tupelo can win it all.

Is Calhoun City capable of beating Bassfield?
That's a tough question to answer. I think they're capable, but it is REALLY going to be tough. Bassfield has 6A talent on a 2A squad.
Is Bassfield as good as they are made out to be?
It's unfortunately and EMPHATIC yes. Bassfield could be one of the best 2A teams to ever come around Mississippi High School Football history.
What about them Noles tonight!?
They were OUTSTANDING in the second half. If the Noles get a lead on you in the 3rd or 4th quarter, you'll be in a serious danger zone!

I've heard a decent amount of Seminoles fans are making the trek to Vicksburg so I'm expecting it to be a great atmosphere for Smithville!

I know this is looking far ahead but who do you think wins division next year in 4a in the division of Amory Corinth Itawamba Tish or Pontotoc?!?
Can't forget about Shannon! I think next year is Itawamba's year. They were very young this year and that youth that got experience this past season should be even better next year. Keep an eye on Vijay Miller and Hunter White. Those two could go off next season.
Best receiver in Tippah County
Man it's hard to choose between Chris Blackmon and Isaiah Howard. Those two had phenomenal seasons this year.

I picked Forrest County AHS over Lafayette at the start of the season and I'm sticking to my guns!
Who did you have in the 2a state championship at the beginning of the season? What about now?
I had Calhoun City and Bassfield in the 2A State Title game at the beginning of the season and I stuck with that pick. I'd say it's worked out so far!
Who will be in Jackson for 5a?
I'm going with Oxford and Picayune.
Best O line in 4a?
Gotta be Lafayette's. Best prospect on the line as well in Eli Johnson.
Prediction on the 2 teams that will be in the state championship for 4a?
I picked Lafayette and Forrest County AHS at the start of the season and there's no reason for me to believe that will change come next week.
Okay well if Smithville and French Camp wins.. What are your predictions then?
