Choctaw County Softball? how are they doing
I think the Lady Chargers are having a very solid season thus far. Still plenty of division games to be played and time to prove themselves.

The records don't really tell the whole story but both baseball and softball at EW have been stout. Softball especially, but you already know that!

Not at all actually. Yeah, sometimes it can get repetitive. But I love my job, and I love the enthusiasm that kids have about their schools and their favorite players. I don't know why you are asking about Eupora baseball next year when we're in the middle of THIS YEAR right now! The Eagles are outstanding this year and there's no reason to be looking at 2016 at all.

How big of an impact do you think losing 5 great seniors for Baldwyn is gonna have on them? (Basketball)
It's going to be huge. Partially because most of those seniors were the bangers in the paint (Chet & Romaro). But overall, it will be a bigger loss of leadership. Those 5 seniors were big in the locker room in keeping the team together. The juniors are going to REALLY need to step up next year and take over for this team but my biggest concern will be Baldwyn's size next year.

Well right now I think they're at the top of the division in 2A but still a long way to go. They're definitely one of the top teams in 2A North for sure though.

From our area, I'd say Wyatt Ball may be the best hitter in 1A. He's having a heck of a season at Nanih Waiya this year.

John, I know this is you. Regardless, I'll answer your inquiry in the third person. I think he's still getting used to playing varsity ball. He's only a freshman, but I think he's got tremendous potential and he can be a clutch player for the Bearcats in the future.
Top hitters in 2A baseball right now?
Right now, Hatley's Cory Murphy and Bruce's Wesley Ross are destroying the ball. Those two guys are at the top in my opinion. Eupora's Rusty Johnson and Trey Pittman are in that discussion as well.

How you think eupora football is going to be next year?
I think it's going to be a transitional season next year for Eupora. They lose a huge senior class that did everything for them. I will say that Stephen Edwards is a tremendous hire and within 2-3 years they'll be back towards the top of their division. Next year, I think they'll have to fight for a playoff spot.
Best 4a soccer players?
Oh gosh, I couldn't tell you that unfortunately. I've been off the soccer beat for a while.

Nettleton smashed reigning 1a champs smithville, Louisville(reigning division champ), and all of their wins have been by a wide margin. They are looking like a definate favorite for north half in 3a IMO. What do is your opinion?
I think we're devoid of a dominant 3A North team this year so absolutely, Nettleton is in the discussion to be a 3A North favorite. The Smithville win isn't fair too much since they're a 1A school but the Louisville victory is very solid. Right now, I think Nettleton is the team to beat in 3A North.
Thoughts on Amory baseball this year? Heard they've been doing good
They've been doing very well as of late! This was the team I expected to see this year.
how do you think Amory baseball is doing right now and who is their top players?
They've been on a hot streak since they got into division play. They've got some difficult games coming up but they're really starting to hit their stride. The two seniors Jon David Poss and Cody Pate are having great seasons.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Amory next year. I think they have the pieces to be a very, VERY good team. I don't want to give them away just yet to everyone but I think they could be the surprise team of the area this upcoming season.

Denver McQuary is absolutely destroying the ball right now for Houston. He's been outstanding. New Albany's Bryce Collins and Grant Hogue are in the discussion too. Pontotoc has a couple guys up there as well.
