How will oak hill be in basketball this year?

Could be a big year for the Raiders. Two seniors depart and a strong team returns for the boys.

do you expect the bearcats to look any different this year without Jason McKay coaching anymore?

Maybe with certain plays they run since Coach Craven will have different tendencies but I don't think things will change much. Still going to be a tough defensive side that gets after you on every play

what is your opinion on Amory and Cleveland this week?

I think this is a sneaky good match-up for Amory. Cleveland has been vulnerable to offenses that can go up and down the field quickly and Amory has that kind of O with Zay Gates at the helm.

Planning on coming to EW's Mini hump for basketball this year?

Absolutely! It's gorgeous and both the boys and girls teams should be VERY good this year!

How far do you think EW girls basketball team will go?? They beat Aberdeen 24-22 and Lost to Starkville High 22-25 last Saturday.

Tough to say how far they'll go but I definitely think they can make a run at getting into the State Tournament this season.

What do you think about East Websters girls basketball team?

I think this is their year to break out big time. Strong senior class returning and a tough coach that will get the most out of them in Stan Hughey will do wonders for their team. Coach Hughey is REALLY tough to play for but I absolutely love him and he will have EW ready to win every night.

I believe so. They were super young a year ago but losing Tanner and especially Sam will hurt a lot. I think they've got some super potential.

Has EW exceeded your expectations this year by going 8-2 and #2 in their district or is this where u thought they would be????

I thought they would get into the playoffs but they've definitely exceeded my expectations this year. Finishing 2nd in arguably the toughest division in Class 2A is no small feat. This team continues to prove the doubters wrong.

Was saltillo better last year or this year

That's a good question. It's hard to say because I like both teams from last year and this year. I think this year's defense may be better but the offenses are more equal this season.

Why is the delta so weak in 2a?

I wouldn't call it 'weak' per say, maybe 'under challenged'. Delta teams play other Delta teams and we don't get to see them play against the top competition we have too often. And typically, when we see that in the playoffs they falter. They're some good 2A Delta teams this year: Hollandale Simmons, Coahoma AHS. But it will always have a small amount of top teams.

Baldwyn by a mile. Not sure anyone can hang with them in 2A North this year. Now SV Marshall will challenge for the 2A Title again from the south but the Bearcats won't be challenged until that point in Class 2A in my opinion. That's all dependent on if they stay healthy and keep their top players injury free!

How good is coahoma?

They're good, don't get me wrong. They haven't played as rigorous of a schedule like Bruce has so they won't be as prepared as the Trojans. Now their defense is pretty impressive so it won't be easy to score on them but I still like Bruce's chances.

Who does SHS play next weekend. And what do you think about there win over warren central?

I believe they are at Clinton for the division title and their win over WC was very impressive the way they rallied to win.

Honestly in my opinion, there is no competition for City in the north. They've beat up every team in their region very soundly. They are like a wrecking ball, what you put in front the will destroy.

I think Baldwyn is the only team that can hang with them in the North. But 'hanging' and 'defeating' are two very different things.

I think you are mistaken. It's not favoritism. I played basketball for 18 years in the state of Indiana. When I know a great basketball team, I'm with them all the way. Baldwyn is a great basketball team plain and simple. It's nothing against Mantachie, it's all because Baldwyn is that good this year.
