What do you think of the Tremont girls basketball this year
Haven't had a chance to see them in person yet this year but from what I've heard they're beginning to turn the corner and hit their stride towards the end of the season!

What are your expectations for the HAMILTON lady lions this fastpitch season
I think they're going to be VERY good this year and should be right there with Smithville in 1A North half. Strong senior class returning including Addie Thompson and Hallie Dobbs.

In softball? Their biggest challenge will be the powerhouse Nettleton Lady Tigers. They are always competing for the 3A State Championship but I think Hatley has plenty of power to hang with them and contend to make it all the way.
have you heard of the 9th grader Luke Hancock from houston that's committed to misssissippi state?
I have. Heard about him last year as an 8th grader. He's going to be VERY good. Bulldogs are in need of another catcher like a Mitch Slauter to come up through the ranks!

If Vegas gave out spreads, what would be the spread on Tupelo vs. Baldwyn in boys basketball on a neutral floor?
I'd probably put it at 2.5 for Tupelo. With the scare factor that Baldwyn supposedly has though, I'd be leaning towards a push for Baldwyn by 2.
Well Keep in mind he does have a son that's gunna be a junior next year. That could play a role in his decision. Honestly, I would love to see him coach his son.
When you've been a head coach at JUCO for as long as Coach Smither, you don't want to take a drop too far in the hierarchy of coaching. Just saying.

They've got a VERY good team returning this year. Only graduated one senior I believe. I'd expect them to be right there with East Webster in the 2A North Title race.
You don't see him as a head coach at a high school somewhere?
Highly doubt it. He's been in JUCO too long to drop down to high school in my opinion.
Where do you think former NE Head Coach Ricky Smither will end up?
No clue. Wouldn't surprise me to see him stay in JUCO and go elsewhere to be an offensive line coach since that's his area of expertise.

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to meet him but I think he's a great offensive mind and has the potential to be a great coach for the Tigers.

Id say any of the seniors could have a shot at playing JUCO ball. They're good enough just need a chance to prove themselves
Baldwyn baseball past 2 years have went to north half. They have talent but not like they have had do you think they have a Chance to go back to north half and possible win to go to state?
Absolutely they have a chance to win it all. Like you mentioned, they've got the talent. Now they just need the ball to bounce their way.
if they make it to playoffs then Chakel will most likely be able to play.

Been saying it for a while on here. It's Baldwyn vs. everyone else in 2A Boys Basketball. In girls, it'll come down to Coahoma AHS and East Webster.
I respect that. I was just watching the McDonald's selection show, and ESPN said Ben was #1. Personally, I agree with you.
Ahhh I gotcha. Yeah I think they put him at #1 because he reminds everyone of Kevin Durant. Lanky, tall, pure shooter, tremendous finisher. He'll dominate at LSU but I would love to have Malik first over anyone in this class.

And, not being rude! But Mailk Newman isn't the #1 player in the country. He's the #1 Guard! Ben Simmons from Florida is.
That's your opinion. I think Simmons is a stud too. I think guard play is much more valuable in hoops so I'd rather have someone like Malik as No. 1 over Ben who plays at the 3/4/sometimes 5.

Chakel Gates isn't playing baseball this year for Calhoun city. He was their 2 on the mound. Does that hurt their playoff chances any?

Starkville high has a really strong 9th grade class in baseball. I agree with you I think next year they'll be pretty good.
Yeah they've got some strong guys coming up that will make them very good for a while.
