I want to start my own YouTube channel and talk about skepticism and atheism (I know, so original, right?) But I'd also like to talk about comic books and movies. Do these to subjects have large, overlapping audiences, or would it be wiser to focus my attention on one or the other? Any other advice?

Dreddpool
I think with such different subjects you'll end up with an extremely niche following.
the reason I started a second channel was because talking about movies and doing comedy sketches on the Armoured skeptic channel would have alienated a large chunk of my audience
I suggest making two channels if you want to do two things

If aliens were to visit us wouldn't they likely die because they would not be adapted to survive in the highly oxygenated environment of the Earth?

No, that's dumb.
If they're advanced enough to travel thousands/millions/billions of light-years then they'd be advanced enough to know how to survive in environments in which they didn't evolve.

I've always been pretty sure she is just a click-bait whore and not a serious commentator.
she has too many videos about contradictory beliefs and she has said some of the dumbest shit I've ever heard.
plus she constantly claims to be a "good christian" but she models sex costumes... so idunnowhattosaydude

If a Christian asks me (a skeptic) to disprove the existence of Heaven and hell as described in the bible, would a good response be "please disprove the existence of Valhalla or prove that reincarnation does not occur"?

yes. that's the "prove Santa doesn't exist" response.
the key is to know WHY that is a valid response... it is a sarcastic response and doesn't help you if you're not confident in your understanding if logic

Do you think fate exists?

usually my skeptical brain says no, fate does not exist.
however there has been a lot of shit happening in my life lately that has been too coincidental to ignore the possibility of fate existing... too many pieces falling into place all at once.

Don't you think after 4.5 billion years of life on Earth there could be an alien race 1,000 years ahead of us?

of corse
but they may be extinct now or they may not come I to existence for another 1,000,000 years

If we don't have free will, what decides what we do? Why should we be held responsible if something else decides?

you decide... your brain. the natural processes that happen in your brain.
but saying you have free will is saying that you have control over your thoughts, like you have agency over your brain... which you don't. you ARE your brain.
saying you have agency over your brain is like saying your mind exists apart from your brain, like you have a soul or some shit.

Do you prefer to use centimeters, meters, kilometers etc. instead of inches and miles there in Canada?

depends on the context.
usually I use metric, but imperial is still standard for wood-working which I do a bit.
I measure hight in feet and inches
and when talking about acceleration of a car I use the 0-60 measurement which is miles
I deal with Americans a lot, especially lately, so I need to know imperial.
the only thing I can't seem to retain is ferenheit. makes no sense to me. it's nonsense

How fast can you run 1600m?

I don't know if I've EVER run that particular distance...
I've run 2000m a few times. took me about an hour or so.

Why do you think life on other planets would not be as intelligent as us?

it COULD be, but there is no reason to believe it would be.

Is it ok to like the movie Prince of Egypt, even though I'm not religious?

it's a good movie.
it's not trying to convert people it's trying to tell a story with consistent internal logic.
I like a lot of movies that have religious stuff in them.
