I don't understand transgenders. By definition a male is an organism that produces sperm and a female is an organism that produces ova. How does one change what gamete is produced? transgenders say they don't feel like their gender but what do feelings matter when discussing what gamete you produce?

It's a psychological thing and it makes a lot of sense if you know how body chemistry, hormones and the Y chromosome work.
In all of us is information to make a male and a female and the Y chromosome (or lack there of) is supposed to determine the code set to make either a male or female biology, however there is sometimes an error in the code and even though the body will cone out a certain gender, the brain chemistry will not match the biology of the body.
Basically the brain chemistry, along with hormones, create an environment where the brain develops to be a different gender from the body, psychologically.
This is why trans-gender is more legit than other-kin and trans-race. We don't have the information in our body to be a wolf, any more than we have the information in us to be another race.

HI Greetings from Colombia, my question is: what do you think about William Lane Craig?

He tries reeeeeeally hard to play the logic game, but always fails to follow proper logic.

Hey Skeptic, what are your thoughts on anti-vax? I have heard both sides of the spectrum on this topic and want to hear your opinion.

nsboy123
There has been no scientific proof that vaxing causes autism.
Even if it did cause autism in 2% of children (which it doesnt) the percentage of people saved by vaxing is exponentially higher than the number of kids getting autism.
So unless people can think of a better solution, we have to keep vaxing to stop plagues from ripping through the western world

Have you ever thought about it to found a secret society? Something like 'the round table of (the) sceptics'. I bet it would become even more famous than the Illuminati. Btw. love your videos!! ;D

Haha. It would be cool but it sounds like a lot of work.
Usually secret groups are made up of the rich and powerful, I'm just a normal nerd making videos in his basement.

Just saw your video where you played the 'might say game' with this KKortez3 guy, and laughed whole 5 Minutes because it was so totaly awesome! You planing that sort of 'game' in future videos?

No idea... I just make m6 videos up as I go along.

Its my graduation today, I saw my id on the bed table this morning and now its gone so I cant party with my friends. Only lie in bed and cry myself to sleep. Please teach me something cool about anything, it would make me happy again. Please

What mic do you use?

I use the Blue Yeti Compression mic.
I went balls-deep into it too, I have a RODE adjustable arm, A shock-mount, a pop-filter and an adjustable diffusior all attached for the best sound quality a compression mic can achieve.

This isn't even our final form! Is that a good thing to say when talking about evolution? I mean... It sounds kindof badass.

It might be though... we could all die-off today in an asteroid collision.
It's not so much "badass" as it is Geeky.

http://ask.fm/ArmouredSkeptic/answer/127892306523 Mutation stems from laws of physics and chemistry, and those are constants that cannot be altered, as far as we know. Even if it were possible to get rid of mutation, that would prevent us from adapting. I think you meant 'replicate' not 'duplicate'.

Right. We would basically be doom our species to staying stagnant in our current form. This isn't even factoring in the inevitable over population of immortals that would choke us out.
Yes, replicate.

Is the death penalty ever justified?

Yes, in extreme circumstances.
It's not fun to think about... but it's the only logical course sometimes.
Extremely anti-social behavior, like Serial Killing for example, people that don't only kill a lot of innocent people but torture them, these people can not be reformed. These are the kinds of people that need to be removed from society permanently. No chance of escaping back into society.

What are your opinions on gun control (ie. no gun control, certain types of guns prohibited ect.) and why do you hold these opinions?

I think people should be allowed to have arms, but they have to know how to use them before they're given them.
Canada has a really good system. Anyone is allowed to have any kind of gun, as long as they qualify.
To get a normal gun (Shot-gun, Long-riffle) you need a license and you need to pass a psychological test and jump through some hoops and prove you know how a gun works and how to use it.
To get a hand-gun, you need a "restricted arms" license, which is a separate test and separate hoops to jump through.
Then to get something more military-specific, you again need to get a different license.
I like the freedom to own in the USA, but I hate how easily it is for people to buy them out of a gun store. The waiting period is a joke.
A gun is a commitment and should be taken seriously.

How do you think the pyramids of Giza were build? How do you think they were they able to drag those giant pillars? Do you think that some of the ancient cultures knew stuff that we don't know today? I got inspired to ask you this from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7124yKFg3U

The pyramid itself was used as a tool to build the pyramid.
There is evidence that there was a counter-weight system set up, using the pyramid as the "crane," which was used to bring the larger stones to the top.
There was a tunnel discovered in the great pyramid that was used for the normal sized stones. The tunnel ran along the outer-edge of the interior of the pyramid and was a gradual ramp going up the entire height of the pyramid.

What are your thoughts on the Bermuda Triangle disappearances of planes and ships?

I think its been well established at this point that there are a large number of methane pockets under the sea-floor in that region.
Even half a percent of methane in an air intake of an airplane will kill the engine, and methane bubbles in the ocean will sink a ship.
I bet about 75% of disappearances can be attributed to methane, the rest are just the usual.

Do you think that humans will ever be able to achieve biological immortality?

We age because there is an error in the genetic duplication process that creates further and further degradation of the genetic code over time. The older we are the more errors and degradation we have.
I am not a geneticist, so I find it hard to imagine it possible to fix this copying error, but maybe it is possible to fix it.

You said you show your face to some people. Who?

I only show my face to other content creators, people I can trust. Even then, only if they ask.

Which just sounds more poetic, heat death or big crunch? This will be the last question I'll ask about the end of the universe for a while, since my shrink says it's starting to get really unhealthy.

Big crunch sounds more poetic. The heat death feels too open-ended, incomplete and impersonal. But poetry doesn't determine the outcome of the universe.

In your opinion, which field of science do you believe has come to benefit humanity the most?

I have two answers and theyre both food.
Ever: Horticulture, learning to harness nature to feed us.
Today : You are going to hate my answer... and call me a shill.
G.M.O.s
The non-profit portion is helping feed millions with easy to grow foods with vitamins they can't normally get in their region.

I'm playing a pen & paper RPG called [The black eye] or here known as [Das schwarze Auge]. Do you have somekind of hobby like that [I think you'd be a great knight or wizard/alchemist, for example, in a LARP or P&P RPG ;)]? And if so, do you make and/or write your own adventures like I do, too?^_^

Not really. I have tried it a couple times when I was young, but I can't really get into Pen and Paper RPGs.
My friend keeps trying to get me to play D&D with him... but nah.
I like RPG Video-games though.
