Have you ever thought about doing videos debunking pseudoscience claims other than creationism, such as climate change denial, we never went to the Moon conspiracy theories, or anti vaccination activism?

Yeah, I've downloaded a few like that to debunk.

How do you make someone who cherry picks from the old and new testament (i.e. gay vs divorce is a obvious one, but other would be no talking to spirits and so on) understand that what they are doing is intellectually dishonest.

The problem with those types of people is that they don't CARE about honesty, they only care about gut-reactions and emotional responses.

Did you find that throughout the experience of moving from Christianity to atheism that you interpreted narrative art forms differently (books, films, tv shows, games, etc.)? I've noticed that the different perspectives on moral structures seems to result in different reactions to the same works.

Certainly, yes. My entire perspective has changed. I even like the bible MORE now that I am atheist because I see it as a work of art and passion instead of a list of rules and morals.

I live in the Netherlands where religious zeal as seen in some of your videos is quite hard to find. Is religion something you encounter often in your (or any Canadian's) daily life and does it have a big negative impact? Or is it easily avoided? Thanks for all your videos and keep up the great work!

There is a lot of it here in Canada, but it is concentrated to specific areas.
It's not like that here in my city, but it's here.

2 words; 1 idiot: Joshua Feuerstein. I love all your work but his are my favs. Do you have more videos planned, or is it more "let's see what dumb ass does next then I'll decide" kinda thing. PS Add hydralinsk on Starcraft 2 if you play it!

Yes. He is too fun to leave alone.

I envy your intelligence. I want to ask how you know so much about.. Well everything. Do you have books or anything you would recommend to people to sharpen their knowledge?

My brain is a sponge. Anything I find interesting I instantly absorb.
But you shouldn't take everything I say as canon. I don't always research everything I learn to carve it down to the purest of fact before I regurgitate it.

Is there any other religion besides Christianity that you would be debating on in the future? Lots of atheist always take on Christianity/Catholicism and Islam, I haven't seen any on other religions yet. PS: I suggest not revealing yourself when you hit that 500k subscribers, a faceless protaganist

Islam, but I don't know enough to talk about it right now.
I don't see myself as going after Christianity, but it does seem to be the majority of Creationists on YouTube.

As a philosopher myself, I was quite disappointed at you when you said something about philosophy being pointless; as I couldn't disagree more with you on that point. Why do you think that? E.g. Einstein may never have discovered "E = mc^2" without Henri Poincare. Plus some physical breakthroughs.

That was mostly a joke... but I meant philosophy had little to do with that particular discussion.
I am not super into philosophy, but people have made it clear to me that I have a philosophy that I peddle, so, whatever, take what you want from that.

Do you think that it's possible that other intelligent humanoid creatures may evolve on another planet?

It's extremely unlikely they would be humanoid, but it's not impossible.

One argument I get a lot and have not real answer for is that God set in motion evolution with the condition that they (the believers) accept the real age of the earth and they accept millions of years. Do you think this argument has any substance?

Its possible a god created the first life with the intention of watching it evolve, but the last part... makes no sense. How would a god expect it's creation to know he exists without making it blatantly obvious that he exists and that he started evolution without expressly describing his motive?
No, that... no.

You have mentioned before that you are putting together a set of Armor. Are you having it all custom forged or are you getting some production stuff from GDFB and other companies? Also do you have any interests in HEMA as well? I am into swords, Asian and European, Hanwie to Albion.

Dan
There are a couple of armourers that have pre-made pieces. I will likely put it together with some German Gothic-Style armour pieces.
I like HEMA but I doubt I would ever participate in it. I prefer Jousting.

Hypothetically speaking, we advance far enough to have a united earth, and establish colonies on other planets. We encounted a fellow space race, which has our level of technology. What would be most likely the first thing we do? Attempt to talk or just conquer? Humans seem to like conquering.

If they were our equal we would try to create relations with them.

About global warming.. if, somehow, tons and tons and tons more trees were around in places they could fit without being taken down for being in the way, would this help slow global warming down at all, or no?

Yes, but not by too much.
Between 60% and 90% of the earth's oxygen comes from the plant-life in the ocean, but the ocean is starting to turn too acidic to produce enough oxygen to make up for the excess carbon being released by the ocean.

Do you wear glasses? I saw a reflection in the eyes of your helmet Maybe it's common knowledge already though, if so my apologies for a stupid question

What is your opinion on reparations for African-Americans that have slave ancestors?

I don't really have much knowledge on the subject. We never had slavery in Canada.
It seems like a good idea, but I don't know how it could be implemented properly.

You've hit your patreon goal right? Are you doing to this full time now? BTW excellent videos, exactly the 'freshening-up' the youtube atheist community needed :)

I know it says I have, but the number you see isn't accurate.
People can pledge money but not actually pay it.
I will be doing it full-time this year, but not until I can convince my wife ;)
