You've come quite a long way from being known for "shitmaps" to being loved by a wide range of people, including top players, for amazing maps. What do you think about the growth of yourself as a mapper (and your mapping style) and the reception of the community over these couple of years?

Before I start, I'd like to state that, this question was asked almost a month ago. I decided to answer it now because [s]I was lazy[/s] there's an interview of me coming in this week, and I'd like to insert it there. So yeah, let's go I guess:
Firstly I have to admit that without the period of time being hated by the community, Skystar wouldn't be todays Skystar here.
I would say my growth over these years was converting myself from being "creative" to being diverse. Back when 2013 where I started mapping for like one year, I liked making experiments (oh I still do) and made them ranked. But the problem is, I was not (and am not, probably will not be either) a creative person, or at least not a good one at all. I wasn't adequately capable of fixing those rough drafts to make them become a real thing. As a result, most of them ended up being called "shit maps" or whatever bad words. However, being hated isn't completely a bad thing, at least I've learnt a lot from it, one of them is that it made my confidence much stronger, that I got used to seeing insults on my maps and so I wouldn't give up so easily.
Another thing I've learnt is probably the most important one that made a turning point over my mapping: people do have different tastes. Yes you can't manage to make a map that everyone likes and no one hates. Nobody can. People tend to label a person on first impression, and same applies to mapping here, that if players play a map that they don't like, they definitely don't like the mapper either, since most of mappers usually do have a same style through all of their maps. But what if I don't? What if I map different types of maps that suit different tastes? Thus, I started to learn a lot from a variety of mapping styles and kind of became much more open-minded, touching various maps makes me step forward and it's what I still keep doing now.
One more thing I'd like to talk about is song choice. One of the reason why my experiments in the past ended up so badly is because, I chose wrong songs to go with. Really osu is a rhythm game. Your choice of which music to map already determines at least 50% of your map. Fit or not makes up the quality. Therefore I changed my spot for experiments from those TV size songs to rhythmically electronical music - which allowed me to put in a lot more variety than I ever did.
Finally, I can't say that the reception towards me becomes all positive now since there's still a plenty of people disliking my maps. Nevertheless, I believe I have turned a number of people from hating my maps into loving, and it's one of important motivations that keeps me still mapping. After all, I can't pleasure everyone, but those that would be willing to be pleasured by me.
(Oh and, don't ask for my gender please I won't tell you ;_;)
