That's hard to say right now. I know that Landon Hill and Channing Tapley are probably the two big names from our area in 8-man.

Starkville football on winning state?

It will come down to them and South Panola this year. No one else in 6A has the talent that those two teams have right now.

What you think about Hatley quarterback Dru Stanford?

Dru has some moves. I think he's quick and still improving as a passer.

East Webster is going to continue to win until they hit division play. That's just the honest truth right now.

Predictions for all of the Monroe County schools for basketball? Excluding Aberdeen and including Amory

Well Aberdeen is by far the best team in Monroe County for hoops but Amory needs to improve and take steps in the right direction, Smithville should be better I think and Hatley will be much more competitive this year I feel.

Thoughts on 8th grades first football game last night?

We don't cover 8th grade football so it's not until they get up to varsity do we begin to cover prep pigskin!

Do you think Calhoun city still could go all the way after their loss Friday night?

Oh absolutely. With that offense they have they can beat anyone in 2A. Brieton Sykes and Jesse Nabors have been big thus far and they've got plenty of other weapons on offense. Defense is still figuring themselves out.

What about Brock Kidd and Trey Morgan on the offensive line? For Hatley

Those two are big kids, still getting bigger on the front.

What you think about Hatley football offensive line?

I think they're underrated. They open up some good holes for their athletes and do solid in pass protection.

They returned #54 and the other guard moved to CC from eupora.

Ohhhh gotcha, didn't know that. That helps getting that experience from Eupora. Still a youthful line but those numbers are good numbers to have in the trenches.

What do you think about Josh smith Tupelo'

He's following in the same path as great Tupelo kickers of the past. Still needs to work on his accuracy from distance but I like what I've seen from him this year.

Thoughts on Taylor Brock from Hamilton?? How do you think she's started off the season?

I haven't had a chance to see Taylor play just yet at Hamilton but if I know her I'm sure she's started off great.

Was Bruce's loss to new Albany a bad loss?

Hardly. That's a 2A team losing to a 4A team. Yes, New Albany is rebuilding this season but I would never say losing a season opener is a bad loss. You can learn a lot from your first game but it's not a do or die game ever.

What if Z plays against Aberdeen?

If he plays on Friday, I think Amory has a better chance to win. I know he's still recovering from the car crash so I'm not sure he will be 100% yet. We shall see!

Any freshmen or 8th graders in amory softball standing out yet that you've noticed?

I'm sure there are and I just can't remember the names off the top of my head but I need to get around to watching more Amory softball in the future!

What do you think about Itawamba's football team this year? Predictions?

Just posted an answer to a question on IAHS a little farther down but prediction wise, I think they're going to be at the top of Region 1-4A by the end of the season. We'll have to see how the playoffs turn out!
